Airport employee named Georgia's Engineer of the Year in Government
ATLANTA -- The assistant general manager for planning and development at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has been named the 2012 Engineer of the Year in Government by the Georgia Engineering Alliance.
Jim Drinkard received his award at the 2012 Georgia Engineers Week Awards Gala on February 25.
"Jim is an invaluable asset to the airport," Hartsfield-Jackson general manager Louis Miller said in a statement. "I'm proud to have him on my team and very pleased that he is receiving the professional recognition he deserves."
Drinkard has a long history with Hartsfield-Jackson. In 1977, at the beginning of his career, he was a design engineer working with HNTB Corporation on the original midfield design for the airport.
