The Governor's Office of Highway Safety announced that a list of free sober ride programs is available in an app called Drive Sober Georgia.

Georgia Office of Highway Safety director Harris Blackwood said authorities sought to make it as easy as possible to get a ride, so the application was developed after consulting with its partners who deal with road safety.

Airport to offer Google Maps app for Android

Airport to offer Google Maps app for Android

ATLANTA -- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is now one of the first airports in the world to give passengers access to indoor maps through a partnership with Google Maps.

The maps are available to Android users who have connections to their mobile devices. Customers can use the tool to see the airport's floor plan and layout, which gives them time and freedom to explore the more than 250 retails outlets, restaurants, kiosks and duty-free shops.

"We are excited to partner with Google as they launch their indoor map navigation application, which will benefit Hartsfield-Jackson customers," said airport general manager Louis Miller. "To us, good wayfinding means the customer never has to ask for directions and easily can find a restaurant, a gate or the nearest restroom."

Android users who are interested in the new application must update Google Maps on their phones or desktops.
