Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to see an increase in military flights
News

Atlanta -  In the coming weeks Hartsfield-Jackson Airport will see an increase in military personnel passing through its gates, according to NBC in Dallas Fort Worth.

The Department of Defense told NBC that it will be consolidating its operations here in Atlanta and cancelling their military flights through the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

According to the report, because Atlanta currently receives the majority of military flights and because Hartsfield-Jackson is the world's busiest airport, the move makes logistical sense.

The Pentagon stated that the change is in response to a decrease in the number of deployed military traveling between the United States and Iraq an Afghanistan.
