Delta flight returns to Atlanta due to engine problems | News
ATLANTA -- Delta Flight 509 was forced to return to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport shortly after takeoff Wednesday morning.
The Boeing MD--88 aircraft experienced an engine problem and had to land, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen.
The flight was bound for Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. It departed at 9:45 a.m. and returned to Atlanta at 10:33 a.m.
According to a Delta spokesperson, there were 126 passengers on board, all of whom will board another aircraft to continue their flight.
