ACT scores, participation high for Fulton County distrcit

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Fulton County Schools record high ACT scores and participation with their 2011 composite scores.

"Having an increased composite score of 22.8 is good, especially since our number of test-takers has grown, but we want more students to score higher and meet the rigors of college admission," said Superintendent Robert Avossa.

Avossa says their goal is to have a "significantly high number of graduates be college-ready by 2017."

The districts's previous composite score was 22.4, which had been the district's highest overall score to date.

Fulton County claims their ACT announcement shows that the districts "emphasis on achievement and improvement is paying off in a measurable way."
