The summer months are just a few weeks away, and the school year is coming to a close. Now is the best time to register for the City of Atlanta’s summer camp. Registration for Camp Best Friends is open for youth ages 5 to 16. There will be four specialty camps including one residential camp, 12 day camps, and two teen camps. The regular camp season starts May 31st and runs through July 22. The extended camp will be available from July 25th through August 5th at four locations.
“Camp Best Friends is celebrating 30 years of service to the metro Atlanta youth and families,” said Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs George Dusenbury. "There are plenty of spots available as we continue to honor Mayor Reed's commitment to youth development in the City of Atlanta.”
The summer program will provide a variety of fun and age-appropriate activities including field trips, sports, special events, arts and crafts, nutrition, physical fitness, and games under the supervision of trained staff.

Camp Best Friends also offers a variety of recreational sports camps this summer. These camps each focus on one sport. Campers learn the basic rules of each sport and talk about teamwork, sportsmanship, fitness and nutrition.

The camps will run 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), priced at $65 a child per week for residents and $110 a child per week for non-residents. Financial assistance may be available for qualified applicants. To register, you must present a registration form, Picture ID (Drivers License or State of Georgia ID), Mortgage/Lease or Current Bill (Water, Gas, or Electric), Childs Birth Certificate and Cashier’s Check or Money Order ONLY for the first week of camp fee.
