Eat at Chili's to help Tenn. tornado victims

(WXIA) -- Several Southern states were slammed by severe weather earlier this week, including Lincoln County, Tenn., which experienced a devastating tornado.

Those who want to contribute to the community's rebuilding fund can now do so, simply by eating at Chili's.

On Sunday, May 4, more than 60 Chili's restaurants in Georgia and Tennessee will contribute 10 percent of the day's earnings to the Lincoln County Disaster Relief Fund.

Chili's diners can also make monetary donations by adding extra money to their check totals.

Reel to Reel film series begins Friday

HAPEVILLE, Ga. -- The city of Hapeville will kick off its film series, Reel to Reel Arts, with a screening of Bidder 70.

The movie will be shown Friday, Feb. 21 at Jess Lucas Park.

According to a release from the Hapeville Department of Economic Development:

'Bidder 70' follows college student Tim DeChristopher, who derailed President Bush's widely protested federal oil and gas lease auction. Bidding $1.8 million, he saved 22,000 acres surrounding Utah's national parks, with no intention to pay or drill. The Obama administration agreed to save the land and invalidated the auction, but indicted Tim on two felony counts.

The evening will begin with a 6 p.m. reception, with the movie scheduled to be screened an hour later. The event is free and open to the public.

Jess Lucas Park is located at 680 South Central Avenue.
