BEST SPOTS: Inexpensive Dates

BEST SPOTS: Inexpensive Dates

SOUTH METRO – For this week’s installment of Best Spots, we've compiled a list of Inexpensive Date Spots for you to take your special someone.

In today’s economy, it’s important to find companionship which, in our opinion, is the cheapest form of entertainment. However, it’s the springtime, and people like to get out every now and then. So, check out these suggestions for fun under $15.

If you had a rough week, take your date to Range, Guns and Safes to blow off some steam. Every Wednesday, this range, located in Forest Park, costs $10 for the first hour of target practice for male/female couples. Subsequent hours are $12 each.

Dear Where U Live,

My name is Inari Washington and I am aspiring filmmaker.  I am 16 years old and a sophomore at Tri-Cities High School in East Point, GA.    I was recently chosen as 1, out of thousands of teens, in the Atlanta area to be a part of the Atlanta Sprite Refreshing Films Crew (SRF Crew).  Sprite Refreshing Films is a program that gives talented youth the opportunity to become filmmakers by actually producing a short film from beginning to end.  We learned about movie casting, location selection, setting up for the film, using the camera, scriptwriting, working with actors and a host of other components, along with promoting ourselves as film makers.     There are six Sprite Refreshing Films Teams.  They are, of course, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York and Los Angeles.  The Atlanta SRF Crew will be competing in a First round of nationwide votes against the Dallas (SRF Crew) beginning April 12th –April 22nd.  If Atlanta wins we will go on to compete in the Second Round against the other winners of the First Rounds.  The Second Round runs from May 1st –May 31st.  During voting in May, professionals will be voting on the best film.  The winning team goes on to have their film screened at a national film festival event in June.  All crew members will be flown to the festival to have their film screened in front of an audience that includes huge film industry professionals.
