On Friday February 4th, Atlanta Airport Opens New Art Exhibit Capturing the Pride of New Guinea

Atlanta, GA--  (submitted by DeAllous Smith of The Atlanta Airport)

In a fascinating exhibit starting February 4, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s Art Program showcases the pride and festive beauty of the indigenous people of Papua New Guinea.

“Tribes of Papua New Guinea” captures the awareness and expressionism of that country’s indigenous people, who celebrate and honor their past while dressed in traditional attire during national festivals and ceremonies.

“Art enthusiasts who view these images will discover that the stories of these people are told through facial expressions, traditional headdresses, necklaces and other garments,” said Katherine Dirga, Airport Art Program manager. “This exhibit provides a photographic snapshot of the group’s rich heritage and undeniable pride.”
