Republican Candidate for Governor Backtracks on "Open Mind" on Casinos

Atlanta, GA (AP)-- Republican gubernatorial hopeful Nathan Deal is backpedaling on casinos after at least one prominent Christian
conservative activist called to voice concerns.
Deal created a stir when he said earlier this month that he was
willing to keep an "open mind" about the possibility of casinos
in Georgia. This week, Deal spokesman Brian Robinson said the
former congressman from Gainesville "personally opposes casino
gambling" and doesn't believe they're the best way to spur the
state's economy. Robinson wouldn't say whether Deal would sign a
veto a casino bill if one landed on his desk.
The campaign of Deal's opponent, Democrat Roy Barnes, said
Deal's waffling shows he "is too unsteady for the job" of
governor.

Loan Modification Could be Good, but Short Sale is Better says 1 Expert

Atlanta, GA--  As more and more Atlanta homeowners find themselves in financial distress and are forced to make tough decisions regarding their homes and specifically their dropping values and ballooning mortgage payments, we turned to a housing expert to help us navigate this complex situation.

Marian Anthony is a real estate finance expert and author of Short Sale RUSH- A How To Guide for Nonperforming Assets.  According to Marian, a Short Sale is more advantageous than a Loan Modification or a Foreclosure because "the reduced payoff in a short sale releases you from the debt obligation." He states that a foreclosure will ruin the homeowner's credit, and "a loan modification actually builds a debt trap around the borrower, milking them for every last nickel."

With so much information and marketing dollars being spent on homeowners getting into Loan Modification programs which may keep you bogged in debt for years, take Marian's su

Hapeville Moved Historic Christ Church (c. 1895)

On Saturday, July 10th, the Historic Christ Church was hoisted onto beams and moved to Jess Lucas Park located at 680 S. Central Avenue. The move was executed by Roy Bishop Housemovers. The project was a joint effort of the City of Hapeville, the Hapeville Association of Tourism and Trade (HATT) and the Hapeville Historical Society.

The Historic Christ Church was located at the Depot Complex, right along the railroad tracks on South Central Avenue. The proximity to the railroad tracks had taken its toll overtime and engineers who looked at the building advised that the structure must be moved in order to save it. Movement to the park location away from the noise and vibration will ensure that the structure could be enjoyed by future generations.
